New ETFs are coming to market that provide exposure to smaller emerging market nations according to the WSJ‘s Daisy Maxey.
In the article, ETFs Aim to Tame the Final Frontier, Maxey reports that the freshest entry is Van Eck Global’s Market Vectors Poland ETF (PLND). The fund tracks an index of at least 25 companies that are either headquartered in Poland or derive at least 50% of their revenues from the country.
Other recent launches include the Global X China Consumer ETF (CHIQ) and Global X China Industrials ETF (CHII). Additional Market Vectors offerings include the Market Vectors Vietnam ETF (VNM), Market Vectors Brazil Small-Cap ETF (BRF) and Market Vectors Indonesia Index ETF (IDX).
iShares manages the $11.6 billion iShares MSCI Brazil Index Fund (EWZ) but is also starting funds that provide exposure to smaller countries — a recent example is the iShares MSCI All Peru Capped Index (EPU).
