Solar ETFs Have Another Rainy Day

On another 5% down day for equities, Smart Money‘s Rob Wherry notes that Solar ETFs managed to do even worse.

In the article ETFs Sell Off on News of Changes to Bailout Plan, Wherry points out that the news that China’s JA Solar lowered its guidance caused the stock to nosedive 29%.

ETFs with significant positions in JA Solar include the Market Vectors Solar Energy ETF (KWT) and the Claymore/MAC Global Solar Energy ETF (TAN). Both ETFs declined over 15% on the day.
