Sorting Through Beaten Down ETFs

Forbes magazine reporters Andrea D. Murphy and John J. Ray search for value among exchange traded funds in the article Bet On A Rebound With ETFs.

The team screened ETFs using price to book ratio and excluded funds that focus solely on the real estate and financial sectors from results.

One pick is the WisdomTree Japan SmallCap Dividend Fund (DFJ) which sells for just 1.2 times book value. The fund tracks an index of nearly 500 dividend-paying small capitalization companies in Japan.

Another ETF that passed the screen is the iShares MSCI EAFE Value Index Fund (EFV) an international large cap value fund which sells for 1.6 times book.
